 Polish Wild Mushrooms

Kluski Noodles with Mushrooms and Cabbage

Recipe Ingredients:

2 Onions, chopped
1 cup dried Wild Mushrooms, sliced
1 lb Sauerkraut (or Cabbage)
3 tb butter
1/2 lb Polish Kluski Egg Noodles
1 cup of vegetable stock
Salt and Pepper

Recipe Instructions:

  1. Soak the Polish dried wild mushrooms overnight. Drain mushrooms and chop finely.

  2. Take a large pan and lightly brown onions in butter

  3. Add wild mushrooms, kraut (or cabbage), and vegetable stock.

  4. Cover and cook on a low heat for 30 minutes.

  5. Cook noodles in a separate pan. Drain water.

  6. Mix Kluski egg noodles and mushroom and cabbage together, and serve. This is a delicious Polish vegetarian dish for Christmas Eve (Wigilia)
